Atlantis was considered a mega-metropolis where it’s citizens lived in peace and harmony with one another, the environment, and with the World at large for most of it’s reign. A city that lived through one of the greatest golden ages known to man and will forever be a source of intrigue and mystery.
So what happened to it? And where is it now? – Nobody knows.
One of the widest circulating beliefs is that Atlantis lies beneath the MASSIVE ice sheet of Greenland. But how could this be? What is the significance of the evidence in support of this theory?
According to the dictionary…

- any of a class of Jewish or Christian writings that appeared from about 200 b.c. to a.d. 350 and were assumed to make revelations of the ultimate divine purpose.
- a prophetic revelation, especially concerning a cataclysm in which the forces of good permanently triumph over the forces of evil.

- any universal or widespread destruction or disaster
Taking into account the first 4 definitions, this ‘apocalypse’ may very well be the catalyst we’ve all been waiting for to disclose, unveil, and reveal a grand, hidden source of ancient knowledge. However this ‘apocalypse’, as it were, will likely take quite awhile before happening, despite how quickly the ice sheet of Greenland is melting.
Fair Warning; The evidence for this topic is controversial and up for debate, though it’s always healthy to go into discussion with an open mind and a pinch of salt.
Evidence #1 – Global Warming May Reveal Riches
Global warming is a serious threat and one that should concern each and every one of us. It is real and is happening at an alarming rate. The polar ice caps are degrading quickly, such as the massive sheet of ice covering Greenland. The ice of Greenland is approximately 1-2 vertical miles long and has been consistently melting for many decades. According to several theorists, Atlantis is encased somewhere deep inside this icy tomb.
Evidence #2 – A Continent Unto Itself
Atlantis was considered one of the greatest feats of human creation of all time aside from the great pyramids of Giza. Some even attribute the cities massive size to belonging on an island-continent entirely it’s own, and this island has since been named Greenland, which is also the largest island on the planet currently known. As well, Plato is recorded as claiming the island of Atlantis to be larger than Libya and Asia, making it ‘continental sized’.
Evidence #3 – Questionable Shape and Size
Greenland is questionably of a similar shape and size to that of ancient Atlantean dimensions, according to the Ancient Secret of The Flower of Life books by Drunlavo. Although not exact, due to erosion and the natural shifting of tectonic plates, the general shape and size is reminiscent of Atlantis.
Evidence #4 – Tectonic Plates and Pangaea
Another claim that has since surfaced is the possible geo-location of where Greenland was during the age of Pangaea. According to several theorists, the land mass that was Atlantis (now Greenland) broke off from Pangaea along with the rest of the countries we know of today. It took Pangaea about 200 million years to fully break off, during this time it is quite likely Atlantis resided in what is now the Atlantic Ocean. Notice the similarity between Atlantis and Atlantic? Many would view this as an obvious indicator that Atlantis was at it’s reign during this time, in the Atlantic Ocean, and later this landmass continued shifting into where it now resides at the southern most point of planet Earth.
Who’s to say what remnants of technology or ancient frozen-life forms remain locked under the ice? Perhaps there is only giant ruins and rubble, or possibly nothing at all? If there is in fact buried treasure beneath the frozen waters of Greenland, mankind will finally have the evidence it needs to consider an ancient civilization that once existed thousands of millenia ago. The global discussion will transcend to new heights in matters of religion, unity, and the heightened awareness of our species as a whole.
Let us only hope that if global warming persists, there is something stashed away under that ice to help us save our planet before we destroy both it and ourselves. Similar to what the Atlanteans must have somehow done themselves, despite their spiritual and technological advancements, and possibly by a similar fate. Global warming, natural disaster, mass flooding, and an inevitable Ice Age. However, perhaps this time around we can ascend higher than even THEIR level of consciousness and create for us our own spirit earth awakening and enlightened golden age.

Dr. Ewing who was opposed to Atlantis searched for it despite the fact that he believed it did not exist. His oceanography and fossil finds however conclude that it not only existed, but also has actually sunk at least twice (due to the previous two ice ages).
If we take for granted that Atlantis did exist, and that humanity originated from there, what does that mean to us?
It throws a wrench into the mechanics of various religions for starters by questioning their myths but at the same time supporting the Great Flood myth.
It changes how we look at other ancient societies, knowing that they had possibly originated from Atlantis and then somehow lost or forgot their technology. There was a loss of cultural and technological memory.
It suggests that we may have had a higher state of technology 14,000 years ago and that we started over roughly 12,000 years ago. And judging by the timeline of Cro-Magnon man (36,000 years), it may take us another 20,000 years to reach the level of technology that was used to build the pyramids.
It questions what around is actually permanent. Metals melt and rust away and can be salvaged and turned into other things. Glass breaks easily. Plastics slowly degrade. Bones, if not fossilized, also disappear. Wood rots. Stone is one of the few things that last, especially if they are too big to be moved by less technological cultures.
What have we built in the last 2000 years that is actually permanent? The Great Wall of China is brick and will erode and fall apart. Steel buildings will rust away into nothing. The Hoover Dam (one of the few things that can be seen from space) is perhaps one of the few buildings that will actually still be here in 10,000 years.
Fossils stay on the basis of becoming covered by sedimentary rock. The fossilized fresh water fish and land plants found in the Mid-Atlantis ridge for example. Actual bones are a rare find.
The Greek and Indian myths suggesting a Great War which burned the land and boiled the seas seems almost Apocalyptic, like a nuclear war. Zeus’s lightning bolts sounds almost like nuclear missiles. We already know that a nuclear blast can destroy the memory of what was a city, leaving behind only a shell.
